Brief: Construction of new free standing Woodlands class room
The structure is almost entirely constructed from sustainable wood.
We used Douglas Fir for the Glulam beams and trusses with cedar for the external cladding and Birch for the internal finishes.
The building sits on Helical Piles which in turn had bespoke Stainless Steel feet to which the structure was fixed too.
The building is heavily insulated with the underfloor heating provided via a heat source pump to increase the building environmental credentials.
The roof is a Zinc Standing seam which we are looking forward to see weathering along with the external cladding.
We are currently working on another School for the same client just a mile away which is testament to our team who obviously pulled out the stops to produce this magnificent piece of work.
