BSIX COLLEGE, SITH FORM INTERNAL & EXTERNAL REFURBISHMENT WORK.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORKS

The work comprised of the internal refurbishment of the existing library and main entrance lobby and the formation of a new student services area, together with the external refurbishment of the area at the front of the college.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE WORKS

The work comprised of the internal refurbishment of the existing library and main entrance lobby and the formation of a new student services area, together with the external refurbishment of the area at the front of the college.

INTERNAL REFURBISHMENT
a) Stripping out and demolitions and alterations.
b) New internal walls and partitions, including Metsec LGS wall system within the entrance lobby.
c) Formation of new structural openings.
d) New internal doors and frames.
e) New internal fire resisting glazed screens.
f) Sound absorbed acoustic timber wall panel cladding within the entrance lobby.
g) Internal redecorations.
h) New floor finishes.
i) Alterations to the existing suspended ceiling within the Library and new ceilings within the entrance lobby and student services area.
j) New reception desks, tea station and fixed furniture and equipment.
k) Associated mechanical works, including alterations and additions to the heating system. New mechanical ventilation within the student services area, new a/c units to the data rooms, new curtain heater to the front entrance lobby and alterations to the hot and cold water supplies.
l) Associated electrical works, including new power, lighting, CCTV and access control. New
entrance turnstiles, have been installed, together with a foot fall counter and book tagging
system for the library.

EXTERNAL REFURBISHMENT
a) Stripping out of the front entrance area, including demolition of a large storage shed.
b) Rebuilding of existing front boundary walls, together with new steel fencing to the entrance.
c) Installation of new MUGA sports pitch, together with associated fencing.
d) New external landscaping and paving.
e) Soft landscaping.
f) Re-roofing front entrance canopy and lobby in single ply membrane. New aluminium fascia’s
to entrance canopy.
