SMITHY STREET SCHOOL, TOWER HAMLETS CONSTRUCTION OF NEW EXTENSIONS & INTERNAL WORKS

Brief:
The works were carried out in 5 phases, as follows:-
(i) Phase 1 Construction of altro storey extension to form a Nursery at ground floor level, Extended Schools Use Room at first floor level, together with a new main entrance to the school and lift installation.
(ii) Phase 2 Refurbishment of the existing East Wing of the school to form new Admin/Reception Area/Head Teachers Office and Nursery Toilets at ground floor level, Staff Room at first floor level, together with a new lift installation serving all floors of the building.
(iii) Phase 3 Refurbishment of part of the existing ground floor of the main building, to form new Deputy Heads Office, Kitchen, Storage and ground floor Staff WC’s.
(iv) Phase 4 Relocation of the Main Hall from first floor to ground floor level.
(v) Phase 5 Reconfiguration of the first floor Hall.
