Sustainability Policy Statement & Arrangements
Supply Policy Statement
IMS Building Solutions Ltd believes the construction industry is responsible for playing a lead role in preserving the present and creating a sustainable future. This policy governs how we as a responsible company set out to achieve this.
IMS Building Solutions Ltd undertakes to:
· Reduce environmental impact wherever possible, using best practice methods and standards such as BREEAM.
· Reduce energy consumption at our head office through promotion of eco-friendly practices such as switching off unused lights and electrical equipment, use of LED lights and motion detection to reduce energy consumption. We encourage employees not to print out documents unless absolutely necessary, then use both sides of the paper, use email as the preferred option of communication. Installation of additional insulation to head office, over and above building regulations.
· On site, construction waste materials are sorted for recycling, where there is no capacity for separate waste disposal skips, the waste will be sorted for recycling by the waste disposal company. We only use waste companies who have recycling facilities.
· Ensure compliance to all regulations and statutory bodies with regards the environment and sustainability.
· Collaborate with partnerships and supply chains and seek to embed “sustainable thinking” across activities including promoting the use of fuel efficient vehicles and the use of non-toxic paints where possible.
· Maintain continual improvement through measurement against policy and performance, evaluation, review, training and procedural change where required.
· Reduce, reuse and recycle wherever practicable.
· Source recycled materials or other materials from sustainable sources i.e. only purchase FSC certified wood and purchase materials regionally wherever practicable.
· Seek to reduce carbon emissions, water consumption and energy use across our operations and those within supply chains and partnerships.
· Reduce any adverse impacts on the communities our operations affect, while simultaneously seek to source locally to aid local economies.
· Engage local communities through education, project liaison, and support them through charitable work, sponsorship and other support initiatives.
· Meet our clients’ requirements and meet or exceed their expectations.
· Communicate this policy to our employees, stakeholders, and all interested parties.
