Construction of new Entrance and Reception
Initial Preparations & Foundations
The project commenced with essential internal strip-out and demolition work within the existing structure, followed by the installation of the steel substructure, timber posts, and critical damp-proof membrane (DPM), insulation, and screed for the ground floor.
Structural Development & Envelope Construction
The core building structure took shape with the construction of the roof, complete with insulation and felt, alongside the erection of external walls using a combination of bricks and stud cladding, and the precise installation of external doors and windows.
Exterior Finishes & Landscaping (Initial Phase)
As the building progressed, initial external landscaping began, including paving work, and the building’s exterior was further defined with the installation of aluminium fascias and cladding.
First and Second Fix Installations
The essential internal infrastructure was put in place through the first fix of electrical and mechanical systems, followed by the installation of plasterboard for walls and ceilings, and then the second fix of electrical and mechanical components.
Interior Fit-Out & Final Touches
The interior rapidly advanced with the installation of windows, internal stud partitions and doors, flooring, and comprehensive decoration, while critical utilities like the gas main were also installed.
Completion, Commissioning & Handover
The final stages focused on completing the external canopy and the remaining landscaping, installing the reception desk, meticulously completing and snagging the existing reception area, and culminating in the testing, commissioning, and official handover of the new build.
