Remedial Works to Gable End Dining Hall

Controlled and Safe Work Environment

The project commenced with the establishment of a secure work zone, including barriers and floor protection, to ensure the safety of both personnel and the public.

Specialized Access and Debris Containment

An independent scaffold was erected to provide safe access to the work area, along with the installation of tarpaulin sheeting to effectively contain and prevent falling debris.

Systematic Removal of Existing Finishes

The initial phase involved the careful and methodical removal of the existing polythene covering, battens, pebble dashing, and laths, ensuring proper disposal of all materials.

Installation of New Structural Framework

Surfaces were meticulously prepared before the installation of a new treated timber framework, strategically spaced at 400mm vertically, to provide a robust base for the new render.

Application of Enhanced Lathing and Waterproof Render

New stainless steel expanded metal lathing was securely fixed to the framework, followed by the application of a two-coat waterproof render, expertly finished with a pebble dash incorporating stones consistent with the original design.

Commitment to Site Cleanliness and Restoration

Upon completion of the work, the entire area was thoroughly cleaned and tidied, reflecting a commitment to leaving the site in an pristine condition.
