Construction of a new free standing woodlands class room

Sustainable Timber Structure

The new Woodlands classroom was constructed almost entirely from sustainable wood materials, utilizing Douglas Fir for the glulam beams and trusses, cedar for the external cladding and birch for the internal finishes.

Helical Pile Foundation

The building rests on helical piles, featuring bespoke stainless steel feet for secure structural attachment.

High Insulation & Heat Pump

The classroom is heavily insulated and incorporates underfloor heating powered by a heat source pump for enhanced environmental performance.

Zinc Roof & Cladding

A zinc standing seam roof was installed, intended to weather attractively over time, complementing the external cladding.
